Diana Licalzi, MS, RD, CDCES
She/her/hers Diana is a nationally-recognized Registered Dietitian, Certified Diabetes Care & Education Specialist and holds her Master's in Nutrition Science & Policy from Tufts Friedman School of Nutrition. Diana graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Villanova University in 2011. After working at Major League Baseball for over three years, Diana decided to pivot her career and pursue her passion for nutrition. In 2015, Diana received her Master's in Nutrition Science & Policy from Tufts Friedman School of Nutrition and her Didactic Certification in Dietetics from Simmons College. She completed her clinically-focused supervised practice in several different fields within nutrition including diabetes, cardiology, and oncology during her Dietetic Internship at UC San Diego Health.
After passing the Registered Dietitian national exam, Diana decided to focus her career on plant-based nutrition and type 2 diabetes. As a Registered Dietitian, Diana gained experience in various settings, including at Boston Medical Center, Labcorp, and InsideTracker. She worked alongside endocrinologists, dietitians, and other diabetes professionals, eventually fulfilling the requirements to become a Certified Diabetes Care & Education Specialist (CDCES).
In 2019, Diana co-founded
Reversing T2D, a digital health platform that helps individuals reverse, manage, and prevent pre- and type 2 diabetes. Reversing T2D uses an integrative approach to tackle diabetes focusing on plant-based nutrition, exercise, and mindset. As an advocate for health and the environment, Diana follows a primarily plant-based diet. She is a lover of nature and the outdoors and you'll often find her hiking in Boulder, CO, where she resides. Diana enjoys teaching people about the benefits of plant-based diets and how to use this approach to tackle chronic illness and achieve a healthy body weight.
In 2019, Diana became very passionate about empowering women to have healthy pregnancies without alcohol. After noticing a gap in the market, she co-authored the book,
Drinking For Two: Nutritious Mocktails for the Mom-to-Be, where she provides women with prenatal nutrition information and over 45 non-alcoholic drink alternatives healthy for both mom and baby. Drinking for Two was selected as Food Network's "Best Healthy Cookbooks of 2019" and reached #1 Best Seller in Fertility on Amazon. In 2020, Diana began questioning her own relationship with alcohol and has since become an advocate for the sober curious movement. She has been quoted in major publications, including Forbes, Yahoo, and CNN as an expert on the topic. In May of 2021, Diana added to her collection of mocktail books with
Mocktail Party, which contains 75 healthy and plant-based mocktail recipes for every occasion.
